Arts Tasmania Funding

Our history group were again successful in gaining a grant to continue cataloguing our collection. This was made possible the Minister of Arts Tasmania.

Tasmanian Community Fund Grant





Our history group were successful in receiving a three thousand dollar grant from the Tasmanian Community Fund.
We were able to employ Museum Consultant Sue Atkinson to catalogue some of our collection and train our volunteers in the art of photography, labeling and caring for the collection.




We now have over 300 objects, textiles and books catalogued and numbered.

Oatlands District Historical Society











The Society, since moving into it's present 'home' in what was once Ferdie Turner's Motor Garage has become an increasingly popular attraction for visitors and the range of services offered, well patronised.

The Society as a voluntary not for profit organisation, has a vision "To be a community driven organisation which aims to preserve, record, interpret and stimulate interest in the heritage of the Oatlands District.

The opening times are Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sundays from 10.30 to 3.30. Entry cost is a donation.
Our history room address is 107 High Street, Oatlands, Tasmania 7120.
